Curious about how it works? We’ve answered some of the most common questions below.
If you still have something on your mind, feel free to email us directly.
What if it rains or snows?
This tour operates rain or shine. Please bring appropriate rain gear (hat, gloves, umbrella, warm coat) if the weather forecast suggests precipitation.
What should I wear or bring?
Dress for the weather, as our tours operate rain, snow, or shine. Because Old Town cobblestones can be slick during wet weather, comfortable walking shoes are essential. You may also wish to bring a camera and a small bag for any artisanal treats or souvenirs you might purchase along the way.
How much walking is involved?
This is a moderate walking tour through Zurich's city center, primarily flat with some charming cobblestone streets and gentle sloping hills. The total walking distance is approximately 0.9 - 1.0 kilometers (0.5 - 0.6 miles).
What's the difference between the small-group and private tours?
Our small-group tour is shared with up to 4 guests and is guaranteed to run once you book, even if you end up being the only guest that day. It's a great option if you enjoy a bit of shared energy at a more accessible price.
Our private tour is exclusively for your own party of up to 3, no other travelers join. You'll have the guide's full attention, set your own pace, get one more chocolate to sample at each boutique and visit one extra chocolate atelier not in the small-group option.
Is this experience suitable for people with food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Important Note: Due to the nature of the experience, we cannot guarantee the absence of allergens, and this tour may not be appropriate for individuals with severe allergies. Tastings may contain nuts, dairy, soy, and gluten depending on the boutique. We recommend consulting with us directly if you have specific concerns before booking
How far in advance can I book?
Our tour schedule runs approximately 3 months out with a minimum advance notice of 48 hours.
Is this experience accessible for guests with mobility concerns?
Our tour is best suited for guests comfortable with continuous walking and standing. It covers a short distance (~1.5 km / 1 mile) through Zurich's historic Old Town and the uneven cobblestone surfaces and gentle inclines require a steady footing. Please contact us directly if you have specific mobility concerns, and we'll be happy to discuss how we can best accommodate you.
Can children join the tour?
This tour is designed for adults and older children (for example, 14+ years) who have an interest in food, culture, and walking. Young children may find the pace or content less engaging.
Can I book this tour for a larger group?
We are a small operator, please contact us directly and we'll discuss the possibilities.
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your booking for a full refund up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the tour. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are non-refundable.
